Case study

KRISTALA

We worked with Kristala on a PR campaign, combining press outreach and guerrilla social media marketing via Reddit to create their largest spike in sales since their launch.

Overview

Kristala reached out to us with a problem - whilst they had a successful launch and Kickstarter campaign, they were an early-access title with dwindling sales numbers. They wanted to make sure that their latest update was met with the attention that it deserved.

LAUNCHING OUR PR CAMPAIGN.
TO MAINSTREAM COVERAGE.

We knew that Kristala had a fantastic hooks for journalists - a souls-like game with a neat twist (who doesn’t like cats?), and with exceptional visuals. We wrote press releases, and liaised with journalists - earning them coverage in mainstream outlets like PCGamer, IGN (YouTube and publication), PCGamesN, and GamesRadar.

GUERILLA REDDIT POSTS
HITTING THE FRONT-PAGE

were having problems posting to mainstream subreddits without getting their posts removed. We used our ultra high-karma Reddit accounts, in conjunction with our PR activities - to create authoritative posts on subbreddits like r/ gaming, r/indiegaming and r/indiegames - boosting them so that they appeared on the front page of the subreddits.

Through the combination of our guerrilla Reddit campaign and our PR work, Kiristala earned the highest boost in sales they’d seen since their launch - representing a 500% increase on their monthly sales numbers in just one week.
